Texas... For most people, just the sound of the word conjures up a mental picture of the old west. Saturday matinee movies with John Wayne, or the Lone Ranger and Tonto. Davy Crockett at the Alamo, and Ol’ Yeller. A demanding land, that shapes its men and women. Strength of character and convictions- pride, in history and heritage. A land of big dreams, big personalities, and tall tales.
Texas, with its seven distinct geographic areas, has a wealth of both natural history and unique materials suitable (and some not so suitable) for pen making. This collection presents pens designed to emphasize the great diversity of Texas history and the state's natural beauty. Many of the items you find here in the “Texas Connection” will be available in limited quantities only- an example of this would be the Treaty Oak, in Austin, Texas. Though we continue to search for additional sources, to date we have only acquired enough of this historically significant material to create three pens, and this wood is being reserved for special requests.
